VideoPlayer.ai uploads videos through a resumable, browser-based uploader. There is nothing to install. The whole flow takes three steps.
Steps
- Sign in at /auth/login. If you do not have an account yet, register at /auth/register. Free during beta with 10 GB of storage.
- Open the dashboard at /dashboard. Click Upload.
- Choose a video file from your computer. The uploader opens, shows a progress bar, and starts sending the file. You can leave the page or lose your connection. Come back, and the upload picks up from the last completed chunk.
What happens next
Once the upload finishes, VideoPlayer.ai scans the file, transcodes it to HLS for adaptive streaming, generates a poster image, and creates an automatic caption track. While that runs, the video shows a "processing" state in your library. Most short videos finish in under a minute. Long-form content takes longer, roughly real time on a single-pass encode.
When the video is ready, click it from the library to land on its detail page. You can play it, copy a share link, copy an embed snippet, edit the title, or change the access level.
What you need
- A modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge from the last two years).
- A video file in a supported format. The common consumer formats (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM) all work.
- Enough free storage on your account. The free tier ships with 10 GB.
What to do next
After your first upload completes, the next two articles in this category are short: how to share a link and how to embed the video. Both take about a minute each.
