[REVIEW: Verify against live product before announcing.]
VideoPlayer.ai aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance on its public surfaces (home, marketing pages, dashboard, player). This page describes what is in place today and where work remains. For the broader topic of video accessibility, see the Video Accessibility guide.
What is in place
| Area | Posture |
|---|---|
| Color contrast | Public surfaces are checked against WCAG AA (4.5:1 body text, 3:1 large text) on every release |
| Keyboard navigation | Every control reachable by Tab; visible focus rings; player supports the standard shortcuts |
| Captions | Automatic captions on every uploaded video; editable from the dashboard |
| Transcripts | Click-to-seek transcript view available |
| Form labels | Every input has an explicit <label> or aria-labelledby |
What needs verification
Specific success criteria that require manual or assistive-tech testing on every release:
- Screen reader announcement of player state changes (1.3.1, 4.1.2)
- Audio descriptions for video-only content (1.2.5)
- Pause, stop, hide controls for any auto-playing background video (2.2.2)
- No content flashing more than three times per second (2.3.1)
What is not yet covered
- AAA-level success criteria (extended audio descriptions, sign language interpretation) are not part of the current scope.
- Audio descriptions are not auto-generated. Producers must supply them as a separate audio track.
